This car is a good, safe, solid car with a few quirks. My biggest complaint is that the rocker panels rusted out before there was a spot of rust anywhere else on the car. It is also a fairly slow to respond engine and going up vermont hills can put you in the slow lane. The cd player is broken and will drain the engine battery, so we had to disconnect radio years ago. The engine does buck with an engine misfire- especially when going up hills, or when accellerating. It runs better in the winter then the summer and rarely bucks when the weather is below freezing. The bucking does improve with higher octane gas, so we are not able to use 87 anymore- which gets expensive in this gas guzzler (average s 16.8 mpg- mostly vermont highway) . the good is that it is a reliable, safe, comfortable and safe vehicle that is great in the snow. I feel confident about my teenagers driving around in a solid car.…
Outstanding alternative to a minivan!

After 10 years and 139,000 miles I would put this car at the top of the segment. No serious mechanical issues and easy to maintain. The car drives like a dream on long road trips and with the second row bucket seats my 3 boys can each have their own seat (and don't touch) with extra storage with one of the third row seats down flat. I have the limited trim package with the DVD system - another plus on road trips.
I do have two complaints - the paint on the aluminum hood has blistered at the leading edge (common problem I've learned) and the rear hatch handle pins broke and pulled off. I was able to repair the hatch handle myself without much difficulty.
Even after 10 years the car looks great and the interior held up extremely well. Overall, the car has been excellent and I would certainly recommend a test drive before heading for the minivan stores!…
